- Maggie will be 3 weeks old tomorrow. I can't believe she is already that old! I still feel like we just got home from the hospital. Maybe it's the lack of sleep talking.
- Kaden and Anise are totally in love with Maggie. They ask to hold her everyday, watch me change her diapers, and constantly ask questions about her. Anise has the best. Some of my favorite ones:
Anise: Mommy, is her poo yellow?
Me: Yup it's yellow
A: That's a funny colour for it to be
M: It's good it's yellow, that means she's healthy
A: I don't want it to be yellow
M: Why?
A: 'Cause I wanted it to be purple
Me: Yup it's yellow
A: That's a funny colour for it to be
M: It's good it's yellow, that means she's healthy
A: I don't want it to be yellow
M: Why?
A: 'Cause I wanted it to be purple
----------
A: Can Maggie talk yet?
M: No, not yet
A: Why?
M: She's still too little. She hasn't learned yet
A: She can say Hi
M: She can? I've never heard her say Hi
A: She just whispers it

A: How do you get the milk in those?!
- On Thursday Sean and I (and Maggie) went to grad for the R2's. That means Sean is pretty much done his first year of residency - which translates to HE'S HALF WAY DONE!!!!! It was fun to get out of the house and socialize with friends - some of whom we won't be seeing on a regular basis anymore, if at all.
- Kaden only has 3 soccer games left. And I couldn't be more excited. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad he loves soccer so much and has something to keep him active, but it's kind of driving me nuts! I hate how rushed the evenings always are trying to get dinner made, and making everyone eat and then getting to the field, then home to bed.
- Anise is almost done dance too. One more practice, and then 3 performances in the Year End Show (one Friday night, Saturday afternoon and Saturday night) I'll be glad when this is over too. Same deal, it just makes one more evening rushed and hectic.
- I think I'm just generally looking forward to summer when we don't have to be anywhere and can just hang out in pj's and/or swimsuits all day everyday.
- I'm itching to scrapbook. All I need is some sleep and a couple more sets of hands!
- I'm already feeling the remorse of not doing everything I did with the first child with my third child. Mostly just taking pictures. I really haven't taken nearly enough pictures of Maggie. We still haven't taken a picture of all 5 of us together (probably because I can count on one hand the number of times all 5 of us have been home at the same time and not just about to head somewhere! - again Yay summer holidays!! ) I know part of it is because my good camera is no longer in working condition, but I still have a point n shoot. So why aren't I taking more pictures?
- Sean won't be home 2 nights this week which completely freaks me out. This will be the first time since Maggie was born that he won't be home at night. Not totally sure why it scares me so much - must be the 3 to 1 ratio.
---what a cutie!---
---Kaden loves to hold her (and he's good at it)---
The photo of Kaden and Maggie is so great! You can just see how proud he is of his baby sister.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel the motherhood guilt! You are still mothering 24 hours a day, it is just spread out between three kids. It wouldn't be healthy for you to give the same attention to Maggie that Kaden got, because that would mean that he and Anise weren't getting the time that they need too. I'm sure you are doing a great job.
Good luck on your first night alone!
Oh Anise, cute conversations. Kids make me laugh.
ReplyDeleteDon't feel like you're not doing enough, really, that's impossible being a mommy of 3. All the little things like taking lots of photos or scrapbooking will come with time, just relax, take care of yourself and your 3 sweeties. Even if it seems you're just coping, that's fantastic, you're doing your best and you're still a Super Mom.
Yep that silly peanut is funny! And call me if you are going crazy. Then we can go crazy together. (short trip for me!)
