Nuts 'n Bolts

All right, I've been asked by a few people for my nuts 'n bolts recipe, so I thought I would just post it here for everyone. That way I only have to write it out once!

In a saucepan melt:

1/2 cup bacon fat
1/2 cup butter
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1/2 TBSP Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp seasoning salt

set aside

In a large roasting pan mix:

8 cups Shreddies
4 cups Crispix
3 cups Cheerios (try HoneyNut!)

Pour sauce concoction over the top and stir well.

Bake for 45 minutes at 350F stirring every 15 minutes (very important or the Cheerios will burn)

add and stir:

1-2 cup nuts (any kind you like)
1 package Bugles
1-2 cups Cheese Nips  or other small crackers (my favorite is the ritz party mix)
3-4 cups Pretzels

bake for another 15 minutes
Cool and store in air tight container

Note: the kind of cereal and crackers you use is totally up to you. If you like Goldfish better than Cheese Nips, use those. If you don't like Shreddies, use  Crispix, or Chex. The possibilites are endless.  Just make sure the total quantity stays close to the same.

Enjoy!
