Tiny Dancer

A couple weeks ago we had the chance to sit in on Anise's dance class. I was so excited to go, since she is dancing at the studio that I danced at since I was 3, and her teacher is one of the girls I danced with for years. Anise was also thrilled that the three of us would be coming to watch. She looks forward to dance each and every week and wants to show us what she did before she will go to bed that night. And to be honest, I couldn't be more proud. She's following in my footsteps. I danced for 16 years and miss it terribly, so it's so much fun to be back at the studio with her. The fact that she absolutely loves it just makes me a bit giddy.

---Already such a performer!---

--Can you imagine having this many 3 year olds for 45 minutes every week? There's about 16 of them! That's why there's a student teacher---

---My little ballerina---

---Checking herself out in the mirror---
---This one is my favorite. It just seems to capture the entire feeling of dancing. She is just so into it, she can't contain it. I love it!---

---Kaden showing his support. To be fair, he did watch for the first 20 mintues or so, then asked Sean for his phone so he could play a game. He better get used to all this dancing stuff, 'cause by the looks of things Anise will be dancing for a long time to come.---

---All through class, she kept waving at us to make sure we were still paying attention. Then she would flash her big smile and keep going. ---

---Doing a little boogie for us at the end of class---

She was so sad when class was over, she didn't want to leave. Neither did I. I could have sat there forever watching my Tiny Dancer.

  3. That is so adorable! I love the one of her doing a little boogie. That's hilarious that Kaden was playing a game on Sean's phone, haha. Love it! I miss you guys SO MUCH!

  4. Ahh, Joy's Dance. Aimee is in dancing lessons too. I wanted to send her to Joy's, but it was just too pricy, so she is at the University. Looking at your pictures made me nostalgic for it. I could even smell the studio. (Do you know that smell I mean? I've always liked that smell.)

  5. Jess: She's at Joys Dance Factory Here's the website for more details if you're interested for next year. http://joysdancefactory.com/

Lurel: WE MISS YOU TOO!! I wish you could come home for a visit!

Marie: I thought pricing was pretty cheap at Joy's, but I'm also comparing it to what we would have paid in Calgary this year. But I do know that's it's cheaper than Dance Works. LOL. And yes, I know exactly what you mean by the smell of the studio. It smells the same as it did years ago, which makes me happy. It was like walking back in time, to a home that I never really left. I'm excited for the Yates smell at year end show too! I'm a geek, I know ;-)
